Lecia-Gaye Taylor has a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honours in English and a minor in Political Science from the University of the West Indies and a Bachelors of Laws degree with Honours from the University of London. She is also graduate of the Norman Manley Law School (NMLS) where she distinguished herself by being one of two students to be awarded a Certificate of Merit. She was also a member of the Principal's Roll of Honour. Lecia-Gaye has received several awards including the Norman Manley Memorial Prize, the Courtenay Coye LLP Prize, the Raphael Codlin Prize, the Keith Standford Sobion Memorial Prize and the ZipLaw Technologies Limited Prize for the most outstanding year two student and the most outstanding student over two years. She represented the NMLS at the Lex Caribbean Regional Client Interviewing Competition and the Louis M. Brown Mosten International Client/Consultation Interviewing Competition in Dublin, Ireland. Lecia-Gaye is an avid writer and award-winning blogger with prior experience in marketing, advertising and journalism. Lecia-Gaye joined Hylton & Hylton as an Associate Attorney-at-Law and practised in the firm’s commercial department until 2017 when she joined the Bob Marley Group of Companies in Jamaica. She now serves as the group operations manager and legal counsel. Her experience includes advice on taxation, formation and representation of several charitable organisations, formation and management of local and offshore companies, acting in multi million US dollar loan and security facilities, representation of major hotel resorts in various capacities, structuring corporate reorganizations, forming and maintaining registered charitable organizations, advising on compliance and obtaining Cannabis licence and drafting of various commercial agreements. She also supervised the firm’s Company Management Department which maintains over 200 local and offshore companies.
